How placement works

Gradus is not a certification and not a grade. It is a routing decision: given how you work today, which official free module should you open on Monday.

Six skills

Foundations, prompting, evaluation, workflows, safety & judgment, building. A single “AI score” would hide the gap.

Scenarios, not jargon

We ask what you would do with a 12-page report, a client file, or a tone-deaf draft.

Mastery chain

Answers add skill points. A separate 0–3 usage bump sets the L0–L4 band so a lucky theory guess cannot place you as a builder.

L0 OrientingYou know AI exists. You do not yet have a reliable way to use it at work.
L1 UserYou can open a chat tool and get a first draft. Results are uneven because prompts and review habits are thin.
L2 PractitionerYou use AI most weeks. You need structure: better prompts, file context, and a verify-before-send habit.
L3 OperatorYou run repeatable workflows. Next leap is evaluation, projects, and light automation.
L4 BuilderYou can design multi-step systems. Focus on agents, evals, permissions, and production judgment.
